To be able to start developing a module in to the Modulina system, all you have to do is the following:

  1. MODULE PURPOSE
    Decide on the domain and capabilities of the module you want to develop. Is it e.g. a drilling bit for underground boring of soil, telemetry module for a missile or electronic battery module for a torpedo?
  2. MODULE DIAMETER
    Determine the diameter of your module. If you’re designing the module for your own linear vehicle, you can choose any diameter you prefer. However, if you plan to sell your modules in our online store, they must meet one of the following diameter standards:
    • 70 mm (same diameter as Hydra 70, fits FIM-92 Stinger launcher and is compatible with rocket launcher pods such as the M260 and M261).
    • 127 mm (same diameter as FGM-148 Javelin and AIM-9 Sidewinder).
    • 155 mm (NATO-standard artillery shell caliber)
    • 178 mm (same diameter as AIM-120 AMRAAM and AGM-114 Hellfire).
    • 305 mm (same diameter as AGM-65 Maverick)
    • 324 mm (light torpdeo)
    • 432 mm (same diameter as Patriot missile)
    • 530 mm (same diameter as Tomahawk missile)
    • 533 mm (heavy torpedo)
    • 600 mm (same diameter as Russian Kh-55)
  3. MODULE LENGTH
    Select the length of the module. Theoretically this can be any length you like, but we strongly advice you stick to our standard lengths, both for possibility of sales in our online store and for fitting in standard Modulina carrying cases. The length of a module is usually based on what capabilities the module has, e.g. a module of rocket fuel would most likely be full length, a parachute module half length and an electronics module a quarter length:
    • Full length: 400 mm
    • Half length: 200 mm
    • Quarter length: 100 mm
  4. MODULE MATERIALS
    Select the appropriate material and coating. This will mainly depend on the environmental designation of the module.
  5. ELECTRONICS ITEGRATION
    Have the module fitted with electronics capable of communicating on the Modulina bus. The bus is a CAN 2.0 B Extended Frame Format, augmented with authentication, encryption and …
